Info: New Direction of JKD Indonesia

"Hi guys, I know it's been so long that I haven't updated my website. Thank God, now that I have a new web guy, hopefully I can start update this website more often. Some updates are, I just got back training with Rodney in Singapore this June 2008, we did both Brazilian Jiujitsu training as well as Crazy Monkey Program. During that time, for BJJ, we did all Gi and besides instructions, I sparred him where parts of it was his evaluation of me.The instructions are bottom escapes strategies, guard passing strategies and guard strategies. In addition to that, he also taught me on how to train to improve my game for people who only have few guys to train. For CM program we covered basic and intermediate street boxing and street clinch with takedowns. .

Enough of the technical side, lets talk about the philosophical side on where I want to take JKD Indonesia going. After researching within many months in using my mind and martial arts plus after talking to Rodney, I decided to change the direction of JKD Indonesia. The focus on JKD Indonesia from now on is to help regular people become champions in their life by using martial arts training. Most of our clients are every day people who can only train twice a week. Besides training part time, they also have jobs and other obligations with families. Obstacles that people face in their life are often times create stress, and when they learn martial arts (especially arts like MMA, BJJ and Boxing), they use these outlets to channel their anger, fear and frustrations. Then, environments of the martial arts dojo becomes the place of ego, not a place of learning. People, tend to take training too seriously in trying to be the top dog all the time and will try to win at any cost , sometimes create injuries on themselves and others.

Therefore; the issues that people face such as low self esteem, anger, fear, thirst for domination do not go away after they leave the dojo. That same egotistical and selfish behaviors will be carried over to other areas of their life and this is not healthy. Therefore the approach that I and Rodney were discussing is the opposite of what I mention above. I am creating a healthy and supportive environment where the motivation of people that train in JKD Indonesia is for self actualization and becoming champions in their life. We use performance enhancement coaching techniques that addresses not just the technical aspects of the martial arts game, but as well addresses other issues such as mental game training (how to deal with fear, anticipation, unrealistic expectation, creating good relationships with others such as colleagues, training partners, etc, as well as promoting good healthy balanced lifestyle). All this starts to happen when there is good healthy training environments that supports each other. Therefore; in each sessions after physical training, we would end the class with discussion on what we just learned and how can we use this information in other areas of our life. ."
To sum it up , there are 3 top reasons why you should train with us:

1. Our goal is to help you to become Champion in your Life namely balanced life covering your mind, body and spirit by using performance coaching in martial arts training.

2. We provide functional cutting edge martial arts training and deliver them in a stress free, healthy, non competitive environment so that you can safely progress well in your martial arts performance.

3. We guarantee that if your motivation in training is aligned with us, you will get a fun training experience every time.

Artikel: “Mainan”

Guru: (sambil tersenyum) ”Bagus! Cakep!”

Foolan: (mulai usil) ”Kalo dibandiingin sama permainan Babeh gimana?”

Guru: ”Yah, sama-sama Maenan...”
Foolan: ”Maksudnya Beh?”

Lagi-lagi sang Guru tersenyum.

Guru: ”Waktu kecil dulu, ente pernah punya mainan?”
Foolan: ”Punya Beh, mobil-mobilan”, kata Foolan sambil membayangkan mainan lamanya

Guru: ”Dulu ente sayang sama tuh mainan?”
Foolan: ”Ya sayang Beh. Sampe rebut-rebutan”

Kini sang Guru nyengir.

Guru: ”Sekarang, kemana tuh mainan?” Lanjut sang Guru besar
Foolan: ”Wah, uda
h nggak tau kemana Beh, udah dikasih ke keponakan. Mungkin sekarang udah rusak.”

It’s all about being a good person
